About AVPQ

Welcome to AVPQ Online. AVPQ is a growing community of people who support those actively seeking nonviolent solutions to conflict. Members share experiences, skills, information and their time.
It is a multicultural, independent, non-profit association of trained volunteers, offering experiential workshops that can help people to change their lives.

Some groups who support us in Brisbane are Brisbane Youth Service, the Valley PCYC, In-Sync (part of Spiritus), Matthew Stanley Foundation, Lotus Place, Avid Reader Bookshop.

AVPQ offers the following workshops:

Community workshops, where individuals and groups can gain a fresh approach to conflict resolution.

Prison workshops, helping inmates to new attitudes and skills that can lead to more socially integrated lives.
Workshops for groups and organisations to promote team-building, and develop attitudes that build trust and avoid competitive conflict.

For more information, see the Workshop page.

For information on how you can join the worldwide family of AVP and get involved in AVPQ activities locally, see the Get Involved page.

AVPQ has no religious affiliation and is non-political. It draws its participants and facilitators from all continents of the globe, from different cultures, faiths and walks of life. The AVP philosophy is grounded in spirituality and in the belief that there is a power for peace and good in everyone. We believe this power has the ability to transform violence. For more information, see our Philosophy Page.

Alternatives to Violence Projects (AVP) can be found in all States and Territories of Australia, and in over 50 countries around the world.
